One Tam Member Hike - Wildflowers of the Chaparral
Join One Tam staff for a late afternoon spring wildflower hike on the south side of Tam! We will hike from Bootjack along Old Stage Road to the West Point Inn, a gentle climb past serpentine barrens and dense chaparral, seeing many plants that are unique to this area. We will talk about these plants' relationships to fire, traditional uses, and distinguishing floral features. Once we arrive at the West Point Inn, you can stay and enjoy the view or hike back down with us to Bootjack. Distance 1.6 miles one way, 3.2 miles round trip. Elevation gain: Approximately 500 feet.
Meeting location: Bootjack Parking Lot on Panoramic Highway in Mt. Tamalpais State Park. Staff will provide parking passes. Map link here.
For late minute questions about the hike status you can try to call or text Monica Stafford at 510-295-7727 or call the Park Conservancy’s front desk at 415-561-3000.
