Almost ten years ago, biologists and park managers began an ambitious project to re-route a section of Redwood Creek at Muir Beach in order to create a more natural channel. With the support of thousands of community volunteers and students, the channel has slowly been restored and now supports a healthier environment for plants and wildlife. Join Park Stewardship Manager, Price Sheppy, to learn about this large-scale restoration project and about recent efforts to assist populations of turtle and endangered coho salmon. This 2-mile mostly flat loop will take us past restoration sites at the beach, along the floodplain at the Green Gulch Zen Center.
