The inaugural Presidio Activator Council was launched in October 2021, leading up to the opening season of Presidio Tunnel Tops. Check out this video to learn more about the Activators, the reasons behind the council’s formation, and how the Activators helped create a sense of welcoming and belonging at Presidio Tunnel Tops for opening and beyond.
The Presidio Activators advised park staff and leadership on programs and co-created events including Carnaval Ensayo with Fogo Na Ropa, Pchum Ben Festival with the Center for Empowering Refugees and Immigrants, Access to Adventure Day with Support for Families of Children with Disabilities, and the art installation “Ancestral Futurism: Looking Back to Repair the Future.” The council’s two-year term ends in winter 2023, but the partnership and work continue. The council was formed by the Partnership for the Presidio: The Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy, Presidio Trust, and National Park Service.
