After many years of planning and community support, we are thrilled to welcome you to join us for a morning celebration to kick off this exciting rehabilitation! You have all played an important role in getting us to this day. Please join leadership from the National Park Service and Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy, Supervisors Chan and Stefani, other invited speakers, guests and staff for a celebration of China Beach’s rehabilitation kick-off. A light breakfast from one of the westside’s favorite spots, Angelina’s, to follow.

China Beach: Tucked between Lands End and Baker Beach in San Francisco, this sandy cove includes a beach, tide pools, picnic area and spectacular views north of the Marin Headlands and Golden Gate Bridge. In 2016, aging infrastructure prompted a feasibility study for a rehabilitation project, completed with input from community members, engineers, historians and other experts.

Rehabilitation Plans: The National Park Service and Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy are leading a $25 million effort to rehabilitate this park site. The project will include rehabilitation of the bathhouse and picnic terrace to provide restrooms and other public amenities, as well as needed work on the retaining walls and infrastructure.

Timing: Rehabilitation efforts to commence May 2023. We expect the work will last 24 months.

Thanks and Gratitude: The National Park Service and the Parks Conservancy wish to thank our generous donors and express appreciation for federal matching funds, provided through the Helium and Centennial acts, that make this rehabilitation effort possible.

Kindly RSVP by Friday, May 26. The event is free to attend but we appreciate your support at whatever level you're able to give.
