Friends taking photos at Rock Spring

Join us and our One Tam partners for a walk to various restoration sites on the Rock Spring trail in Mt. Tamalpais State Park! One Tam is a Parks Conservancy program that leads and funds restoration, maintenance, and interpretative work in the Mt. Tamalpais watershed in collaboration with Marin Municipal Water District, the National Parks Service, California State Parks, and Marin County Parks and Recreation. Learn more about the One Tam program here.

In 2023, the One Tam partner organizations finished the Marin Regional Forest Health strategy which shared their plan to improve and maintain the natural resilience of forests and woodlands in the face of stressors such as plant disease, introduced weeds, present and past land-use, the legacy of colonization, climate change, and hazardous wildfire. On this mile-long stretch of Rock Spring trail, Parks Conservancy Senior Project Manager Danny Franco and Suzanne Wheelan from Marin Water District will show us what some of this forest health work looks like as they guide us through active restoration sites. We'll dive into how prescribed fire helps the ecosystem, the connection between forest health and clean water, and much more!
