It's officially, finally summer! The longest day of the year, June 20th marks the summer solstice, or the astronomical change from spring to summer in the Northern Hemisphere. Around the world, cultures celebrate the extra light and seasonal cycle with time outside from dawn to dusk. Also, our newest federal holiday is June 19th celebrating Juneteenth, Emancipation Day. So at our park, we're celebrating all weekend!
This hike will be guided by a ranger and last 3 miles over 2.5 hours. Anticipate a brief lunch stop. More details and registration open June 5th.
