When: Saturday November 11th from 10am-1pm
Where: Presidio Tunnel Tops
Inspired by the book and title, ‘What Kind Of An Ancestor Do You Want To Be’, park staff invite you to a community program to explore this bold and reflective question and find ways to deepen our connection with nature, culture and each other! Please join us at the newly opened Presidio Tunnel Tops as we observe Dia de los Muertos and Diwali, learn about their origins, and how history can shape our present and future. We will start the morning with planting and dispersing new seeds, followed by fun arts and crafts activities, sharing special food treats, and a storytelling session inspired by the book. This is a family friendly program and everyone is welcome to join! Registration is required.
Groups of five or more may require special arrangements and must be confirmed in advance. Visit our Groups volunteer page to learn more.
Volunteers ages 15 and up are welcome.
We'll be working rain or shine. Wear clothes that can get dirty. Long pants and closed-toe shoes are required. Bring layers for changing weather and rain gear if necessary.
Bring a personal water bottle and sunscreen.
No experience necessary. Training and tools will be provided. Fulfills community service requirements.
The Golden Gate National Parks Volunteer Program is a cooperative parkwide effort of the Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy, the National Park Service, and the Presidio Trust.
