The Marin chapter’s ever-popular spring native plant sale will be held in the Falkirk Center’s lovely garden next to the greenhouse, with a focus on California Wildflowers. They’ll be highlighting a variety of native flowering perennials, bulbs and shrubs, perfect for spring planting. In addition, we will have limited quantities of our custom-grown annual wildflowers and Pacific Coast Iris hybrids for sale. Arrive early for the best selection! They also have locally-collected native seed for sale, as well as books, cards, and posters. Chapter members will be on hand to offer expert advice on what to plant in your specific garden microclimate. The sale is co-sponsored by Marin Master Gardeners.
Charlotte Torgovitsky will give a short talk at 10:30 a.m. entitled “California Beauties.” She’ll introduce the various native wildflower species available at our Spring Sale, and offering simple methods for getting these ephemeral annual beauties established in your garden. They can be grown very successfully in a container as a way of seeding them around your garden, or lend themselves to a habitat in a bowl.
