Change of leaders at Bay Area parks conservancy signals view on the future

Greg Moore took the helm of the Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy in 1985 with three employees and no clear purpose beyond helping raise money for the Golden Gate National Recreation Area. In May 2019, he stepped down as CEO of an organization with a $56 million budget and a staff of 425 and Christine Lehnertz took over as the Conservancy’s new chief executive—a National Park Service veteran who spent 2015 and 2016 as superintendent of the GGNRA.
