How to make coyotes or bobcats from tissue boxes gallery

Stuck indoors with wee ones? We’ve got some craft projects that’ll bring the magic of the outdoors inside your home. From coloring book pages to national park-themed craft ideas, we’ve got something for all ages that’ll keep you busy. All you need is a heap of imagination—the directions below are designed to be adaptable to the supplies you might have around the house.

  • Tissue box with paper cut out, ready to make a craft
    Step 1: Before you start, discard any lining from the tissue box. Step 2: Given your available materials, are you going to paint or cover the outside of the tissue box? Step 3: With your black marker or Sharpie, trace the “mouth” of the animal (the oval opening of the box). Alex Grant/Parks Conservancy
  • Tissue box with recycled paper covering its exterior and made to look like a bobcat in the Golden Gate National Recreation Area.
    Step 4: Glue your animal’s eyes (options include: googly eyes, cutout animal eyes from newspapers and magazines, or DIY) to the top of the box. Step 5: Using recycled white cardstock or paper, cut out your animal’s teeth and glue to the inside of the tissue box. Step 6: Finally, use pipe cleaners or paper shreds to add whiskers to the sides of the mouth. Alex Grant/Parks Conservancy
