Inspired by the book and title, What Kind Of An Ancestor Do You Want To Be, park staff invite you to a community program to explore this bold and reflective question and find ways to deepen our connection with nature, culture, and each other.
Please join us at Quartermaster Reach Marsh in the Presidio for a morning of planting native plants, an observation of Diwali and Día De Los Muertos, and a sharing of special traditional treats.
Everyone is welcome to join and learn about these special celebrations, and how they bring us closer to our more than human world and to each other!
Volunteers of all ages are welcome. Read our Youth Policy Guidelines (PDF) for youth under the age of 15.
Wear clothes that can get dirty. Long pants and closed-toe shoes are required. Bring layers for changing weather and rain gear if necessary.
Bring a personal water bottle and sunscreen.
No experience necessary. Training and tools will be provided. Fulfills community service requirements.
Stay home and DO NOT attend if you:
Have any illness symptoms
Have tested positive for COVID-19
Suspect you have had contact with a COVID-19 positive case
Face coverings and social distancing are encouraged, but not required.
