Did you think that we just go to our local nursery and pick up the over 100,000 plants to use in restoration projects each year? Wrong.
Alisa Shor (Director of Park Nurseries) and Brian Hildibidle (Supervisory Natural Resources Management Specialist) start our Nursery Series, by sharing what is involved in producing our native plant crops each year, including how we collect and treat seed, spore, and cuttings for 400 plant species native to the park! After being raised with care in the nurseries, these native plants will go to the many restoration and stewardship sites in the park.
