The Reeperbahn Festival is a an annual music and film festival, featuring more than 800 events spanning a range of genres in locations around Hamburg’s Reeperbahn. Since its debut in 2006, the Reeperbahn Festival has grown to become one of the most important meeting places for the music industry worldwide, and, as Europe's largest club festival, it boasts a broad spectrum of emerging artists. This year, Shared_Studios’ Portals from around the world will be taking turns to connect with the festival and collaborate! The San Francisco Portal will be participating during the following times and dates:
Wednesday, September 20, 10am-10:45am
Enjoy musical performances happening in Berlin from inside the Portal, and listen to local San Franciscan musicians exchange their music as well. Bring your tambourines, ukuleles and other musical instruments to take part in the musical exchange!
Thursday, September 21, 11:15am-12:45pm
Enjoy a screening of the film "The March of Hope", a documentary following the refugee crisis in Europe.
"In January 2016 two friends set off to learn first hand about the lives of refugees in Europe. With a pair of cameras and a little yellow van, the journey would lead them from Lesvos to Idomeni and on through the Balkans."
The screening will be followed by a discussion with the film's director, Jim Kroft. To learn more about the film, visit themarchofhope.com
