Mt. Tam Trail Crew: Nora Trail - Hosted by MMWD

Connect with your mountain by spending a day improving trails! We will hike two miles to Nora Trail below historic West Point Inn. Our crew will repair a bridge, upgrade water bars, install a trail marker and do some light brushing.
Meet at the Gravity Car Road parking lot (below the Throckmorton Fire Station, near the Mountain Home Inn, off of Panoramic Highway). Mandatory safeety briefing at 9am. Ages 13 and up. Limit 20 volunteers. RSVP required as space is limited. Events are subject to cancellation due to weather conditions and fire warnings. Please call 415-945-1128 the morning of the event (after 7:30 a.m.) for cancellation information. Parking passes, when necessary, will be provided. Please wear close-toed shoes and long pants, dress for variable weather and bring a reusable water bottle. We will provide snacks, water, tools and inspiration! Trail events are generally suitable for ages 13 and up, and habitat restoration events for ages 8 and up. Volunteers under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. All volunteers under age 18 must have a permission form signed by a parent or guardian. Please contact us for a copy of the form.
About the MMWD Trail Crew
MMWD trail volunteers maintain and improve Mt. Tam’s trail network and enhance natural habitat in Tam's watershed lands. Work with volunteers and staff (generally on the first Saturday of each month) to:
- Maintain and repair trails
- Build bridges
- Install fencing and erosion control structures
- Cut back vegetation along trails
- Repair stairs
