Join us for a habitat restoration project in Samuel P. Taylor State Park!  State Park Volunteer and California Native Plant Society member Nancy Hanson will lead us on a special reconnaissance-style weeding adventure for invasive forget-me-nots, panic veldt grass and other weeds. These dainty little plants may look nice in this beautiful riparian habitat.  However, they arrived here without their natural controls and crowd out the native plants that provide the food for animals, birds, insects and endangered Coho Salmon. By removing them, we make it possible for our lovely native wildflowers, sedges and shrubs to grow back.   Activities may include removing weeds and mulching. Please meet just before 1:00 pm at the far end of the picnic area of Samuel P. Taylor State Park. Look for the One Tam truck. At the entrance kiosk, ask for a volunteer parking pass. Snacks, gloves, and tools provided; please wear long sleeves and long pants. Must be 12 years of age or older. Youth under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Join us for a few hours of easy, companionable work!
