Thank you for your interest in Marin Wildlife Watch. The current cohort of the volunteer program has now reached maximum capacity. Future volunteer program openings will be announced via the One Tam and Parks Conservancy newsletters and social media channels.

If you signed up for this event before 1/17, please note that your registration has been cancelled. To offer volunteers a high-quality experience, we made the decision to open the trainings to volunteers that attended the 1/12 info session AND were selected based on an application process. Trainings are now invitation-only and potential volunteers will be notified of their status by 1/22.

Again, we are so grateful for your support and urge you to stay connected via the newsletter to learn about upcoming community science volunteer opportunities on Mt. Tam and beyond.

When: Saturday, February 3rd, 2024, 10 am–Noon;

Where: MMWD Office in Corte Madera - registration is closed.

Marin Wildlife Watch is a conservation and community science project led by the One Tam collaborative. There are 100+ motion-activated cameras throughout public lands in Marin that take photos of wildlife 24/7. We welcome volunteers to Marin Wildlife Watch to learn how to identify wildlife from photos and contribute to the project from the comfort of their own homes (or anywhere else!).

All new Marin Wildlife Watch volunteers are required to attend a live training online or in-person. In the training, you will learn how to use the Wildlife Insight platform, identify the wildlife photographed by the camera traps, and learn how to get help and tackle common challenges. You can follow along as you learn the ins and outs of this rewarding task. Volunteers that have completed all required forms and prerequisites will be assigned their first set of photos.

Computers will be available but we encourage you to bring your own laptop if that is possible. It is often helpful to get familiar with the software on your own device and staff can help you get set up.

Returning volunteers are welcome to join for a cataloging party and meet-up!
