CANCELED: Habitat Restoration on Bolinas Ridge - Hosted by California State Parks, One Tam, and the City of Mill Valley
Due to environmental conditions leading to increased wildfire risks and local power outages, this event has been canceled.
Did you know that some grasslands on Mt. Tam are shrinking? Join our efforts to maintain these important areas! This event is part of the Nature Space program, offered in partnership with Mill Valley Recreation to create new opportunities to learn about our local environment.
We will be using hand tools to remove small Douglas fir trees while enjoying sweeping views of the Bay and the Pacific Ocean. No experience is necessary, but work is moderately strenuous. Water, snacks, gloves, and tools will be provided; please bring a water bottle, footwear appropriate for variable terrain, long pants, gaiters if you have them, and long sleeves. This event is suitable for ages 12 and up; volunteers younger than 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
Meeting Location: Gravel pull out on West Ridgecrest Blvd (Google map).
Directions to Meeting Location: From Rock Spring Parking Lot (intersection of Pantoll Rd. and Ridgecrest Blvd.), drive west on West Ridgecrest Blvd. for 0.4 miles. Look for the One Tam truck in the gravel pullout on your left (west side of the road). Nearest restrooms are at Rock Spring Parking Lot.
No registration required, but RSVPs are appreciated!
